Feathers and Fools by Mem Fox

Long ago and far away, in a rambling garden beside a clear blue lake, two flocks of birds began to fear each other because of their differences. The fear grew, and soon the birds became enemies, hoarding great quantities of weapons to protect themselves--until panic struck and the chance for peace seemed lost forever.

MEM FOX is the author of a number of well-known books, including Where Is the Green Sheep? and Where Is the Green Sheep? She is a resident of Adelaide, Australia. PAMELA LOFTS has illustrated numerous children's books, including Mem Fox's Koala Lou. She also works closely with Aboriginal youngsters in her nation, creating books based on their stories. She resides in the Australian town of Alice Springs.
