Riccardo Francaviglia is a children's books author and illustrator who lives and works in Catania, Italy. Together with Margherita Sgarlata, he has illustrated more than twenty albums and books. His stories have been published in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Korea, Canada and Portugal, receiving praises and awards. He has won numerous prizes for children's literature, including "Premio Sulle ali delle farfalle e dei cigni" and "Premio nazionale d'illustrazione per l'infanzia Stepan Zavrel".
