To what extent have developments in global politics, artworld institutions and local cultures reshaped the critical directions of feminist art historians? The significant research gathered in Feminism and Art History Now engages with the rich inheritance of feminist historiography since around 1970, and considers how to maintain the forcefulness of its critique while addressing contemporary political struggles.

Victoria Horne is Senior Lecturer in Art & Design History at Northumbria University, UK. She was previously Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and Paul Mellon Centre Postdoctoral Fellow. Horne has published articles in Feminist Review, Radical Philosophy and Journal of Visual Culture. She established the Writing Feminist Art Histories research initiative in 2012 and edited a special issue of Women: A Cultural Review?on the theme ‘Danger! Women Reading: Feminist Encounters with Art, History and Theory’ in 2019.

Lara Perry is Associate Dean for Education & Student Experience in the School of Humanities & Social Science at the University of Brighton, UK. She is the author of History's Beauties: Women and the National Portrait Gallery, 1856-1900 (2006) and co-editor of English Art, 1860-1914: Modern Artists and Identity (2000, with David Peters Corbett) and Politics in a Glass Case: Feminism, Exhibition Cultures and Curatorial Transgressions (2013, with Angela Dimitrakaki).
