Die Autorin: Beate Littig wurde 1961 in Kaiserslautern geboren. Nach dem Studium der Soziologie an den Universitaten Gottingen, Hamburg und Berlin war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Forschungsinstitut der Daimler-Benz-AG in Berlin beschaftigt. Auf den zweijahrigen Postgraduiertenlehrgang am Institut fur Hohere Studien und empirische Forschung (IHS) in Wien folgten diverse freiberufliche Tatigkeiten und Projektmitarbeiten. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie als Projektassistentin am IHS in Wien.
