The Filth by Grant Morrison

From the twisted imaginations of Grant Morrison (New X-Men) and Chris Weston (The Invisibles) comes sci-fi weirdness of the deepest level. Officer Edward Slade has retired in the guise of sad pervert Greg Feely. However, he is suddenly pressed back into service with ethereal police force The Filth, when a rogue officer threatens Earth with contamination by a nanobiotic life form. As he's suffering from amnesia, this is all a bit of a shock to Greg, especially when his back-up is a talking Communist sniper chimp. This fabulous new collection encapsulates the superb talents of two amazing creators into one of the most original graphic novels in many a moon! Warning: Adults only!
Leeds Guide, 8 September 2004: The art is pretty spectacular, but it's the dialogue that really sparkles..Morrison has created a kaleidoscopic world in which nothing is as it seems. Go! 1st October 2004, : Quite simply unique, and it's not often you can say that about any work of fiction these days.; Lincolnshire Echo 1 February 2005: ..tortuous but oddly compelling...
Grant Morrison has been working with DC Comics for more than twenty years, beginning with his legendary runs on the revolutionary titles ANIMAL MAN and DOOM PATROL. Since then he has written numerous best-sellers -- including JLA, BATMAN and New X-Men -- as well as the critically acclaimed creator-owned series THE INVISIBLES, SEAGUY, THE FILTH, WE3 and JOE THE BARBARIAN. Morrison has also expanded the borders of the DC Universe in the award-winning pages of SEVEN SOLDIERS, ALL-STAR SUPERMAN, FINAL CRISIS and BATMAN, INC., and he is currently reinventing the Man of Steel in the all-new ACTION COMICS.
In his secret identity, Morrison is a counterculture spokesperson, a musician, an award-winning playwright and a chaos magician. He is also the author of the New York Times best-seller Supergods, a groundbreaking psycho-historic mapping of the superhero as a cultural organism. He divides his time between his homes in Los Angeles and Scotland.
