Finding Libbie by Deanna Lynn Sletten
A love so strong that decades couldn't tear it apart. Poring over a dusty hatbox of photographs in her grandmother's closet, Emily Prentice is shocked to discover her father was married and divorced before meeting her mother. In the summer of 1968, Jack and Libbie fall in love under the spell of their small town, untouched by the chaos of the late sixties. Though Libbie's well-to-do parents disapprove of Jack's humble background, she marries Jack a year after they graduate high school. But soon their happiness crumbles as Libbie's mental state unravels and she is drawn to alcohol and drugs. Despite his efforts, Jack loses the woman he loves and is forced to move on with his life. Now that Emily's mother has passed and Jack is alone again, Emily grows obsessed with the beautiful woman who'd given her father such joy. Determined to find Libbie, Emily pieces together the couple's fragmented past. But is it too late for happy endings?Deanna Lynn Sletten grew up on southern California's sunny coast before moving to northern Minnesota as a teenager. That's a narrative in and of itself. Her desire to write books was sparked in a college English class, and she has continued to write in some form or another ever since. Deanna discovered self-publishing in 2011 and self-published three novels she'd written over the years. She was hooked after that.
Deanna adores creating memorable characters in her inspiring women's fiction and romance stories. She has also authored a middle-grade tale that takes you on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Her stories express her beliefs in fate, destiny, love at first sight, soul mates, second chances, and happily ever after. Deanna is the mother of two grown children.
When she's not writing, she can be found strolling the forest paths near her house with her lovely Australian Shepherd or resting in her summer boat on the lake.
