Robert Solomon is the Assistant Vice President for Building and Life Safety Codes at NFPA. He oversees the operations department whose projects include NFPA, 101, Life Safety Code, and NFPA fire'test standards, NFPA and HUD Manufactured Housing Projects, and NFPA 5000, Building Construction and Safety Code. Mr. Solomon’s previous responsibilities have included servicing as staff liaison to the various NFPA Technical Committees that deal with water-based extinguishing systems. He has authored three editions of NFPA’s Automatic Sprinkler Systems Handbook and written several chapters in NFPA’s Fire Protection Handbook.
