Walthamstow is where Geoffrey Wellum was born. In August 1939, at the age of seventeen, he enlisted in the RAF on a short-service commission and served with 92 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. He is now one of The Few's few surviving members. He is frequently contacted for television and radio appearances.
