Fist of the Spider Woman by Amber Dawn
An anthology of erotic lesbian horror comprised of tales (and a few poems) with a decidedly female twist. The writings are poised as a feminist response to the traditional horror tropes, often depicting women as the victims. In this empowering collection, contributors such as Michelle Tea, Courtney Trouble and Larissa Lai turn the genre on its head.Amber Dawn is a writer, filmmaker, and performance artist who is the author of the Lambda Award-winning novel Sub Rosa and the Vancouver Book Award-winning memoir How Poetry Saved My Life. She's also the co-editor of With a Rough Tongue: Femmes Write Porn and the editor of Fist of the Spider Woman: Stories of Horror and Queer Desire. She holds a master's degree in creative writing from the University of British Columbia and was the 2012 winner of the Writers' Trust of Canada's Dayne Ogilvie Award for LGBT writers.
