Foliage by Harold Feinstein

Elegantly designed and lavishly produced, this book contains one hundred luscious colour photographs of grasses, grains, fruits and seeds, spices, aquatics, succulents, cacti, houseplants, ferns, conifers, palms, brackens, carnivorous plants, herbs, weeds and other varieties of plants in exquisite detail. With a style uniquely distinct from other botanical masters, Feinstein has created a collection of stunning images that allow us to examine closely the intricacies of each specimen. An introduction by popular gardening author Sydney Eddison explores the cultural significance of plants while revealing the subtle ways in which they touch our daily lives. Her introduction, along with enlightening text by horticulture expert Greg Piotrowski, makes Foliage as practical and informative as it is beautiful.
Harold Feinstein's distinguished career in photography began in 1950, when Edward Steichen purchased his work for the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art. His photographs have been exhibited by and are represented in the collections of other major museums. Gardening author and lecturer Sydney Eddison is a painter and set designer, and a passionate gardener. She has published widely on related topics. Greg Piotrowski is a renowned horticulturalist.
