Rose McLarney has won attention as a poet of impressive insight, craft, and a "constantly questioning and enlarging vision" (Andrew Hudgins). Rose McLarney is the author of two poetry collections: Its Day Being Gone, which won the National Poetry Series in 2014, and The Constantly Cracked Plates of Mountains, which won the National Poetry Series in 2015. The University of Georgia Press will publish A Literary Field Guide to Southern Appalachia, which she coedited. Her writing has appeared in The Kenyon Review, The Southern Review, New England Review, Prairie Schooner, The Missouri Review, Oxford American, and many other magazines, and she has received the Chaffin Prize for Excellence in Appalachian Writing and the Fellowship of Southern Writers' New Writing Award for Poetry. Rose is a coeditor in chief of the Southern Humanities Review and an associate professor of creative writing at Auburn University.
