Frank Oddo was a dedicated street rodder who was recognized for his beautiful 1940 Ford coupe (originally powered by a flathead). He was a 25-year contributor to Street Rodder magazine, as well as pieces for Custom Rodder, Rod & Custom, Rod & Custom, Hot Rod, Trucking, Historic Trucking, and Ford Times. He began drag racing in the mid-1950s (with a flathead Ford) and later became a dry-lakes and Bonneville racer. He hit 223 mph in his belly-tank lakester in Bonneville and 208 mph at El Mirage dry lake. He was a founding member of the 40s Limited street-rod club and a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club. Frank was also a member of the Rod Riders Racing Team, a Southern California Timing Association-affiliated club.
