Ron Paul, an eleven-term congressman from Texas, is the nation's top proponent of liberty in Washington. His political career has been devoted to the protection of individual liberty, sound money, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Judge Andrew Napolitano refers to him as the modern-day Thomas Jefferson. After serving in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon, Dr. Paul left the Air Force in the 1960s to start a civilian medical practice in Texas, where he delivered over 4,000 babies throughout his career as an obstetrician.

From 1976 until 1984, and again from 1996 to the present, he was a member of Congress. He and his 51-year-old wife Carol Paul have five children, 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. According to the New York Post, Ron Paul is an independent politician who cannot be purchased by special interests. A congressional colleague remarked, There are few people in public life who adhere to their principles through thick and thin, rain or shine.

One of those select ones is Ron Paul.
