The Forest of Bowland by Helen Shaw

One of the Queen s favourite places on earth, the Forest of Bowland is one of the most undiscovered wild places in Britain. Stretching from Lancashire to Yorkshire, it has changed its face from its days as a hunting ground for the Kings of England, but it still contains some of the most spectacular views, wildest crags and moorlands, and idyllic rural farmland and small villages and hamlets. The stunning images taken by local photographer Helen Shaw reveal many of the secret places in today s Forest of Bowland.
Stachulski, Andrew: - Andrew has always loved walking. He has climbed all the major fells of the Lake District and in 2003 he completed the circuit of all the Munros, the Scottish mountains over 3,000 ft. in height. One of his real enjoyments is giving slide shows on his decades of climbing the Munros and walking in the Scottish highlands in general. He has written articles for walkers' magazines and a book, 'Home Ground' in which he describes a set of twenty walks in his native country of the Pennines and Forest of Bowland.
