Teeter, Ben R.: - Ben Teeter was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland, amidst the blended cultures of his dad's old Appalachian ways of tough work and nature's beauty, and his mom's more jolly family life of prosperous, rural Americana. Due to close proximity, he also experienced the expanded and vibrant cultural mix of life in the D.C. beltway, which helped to influence his perspective of the larger world. From a young age, he held a love for writing, but his passion and connection to the art truly came alive while attending John Hopkins University, from which he received a full scholarship. It was there, among his fellow poets and in the midst of the late 1960s cultural shifts, that his focus moved to the spiritual, metaphysical and transcendental. From there he began his life-long pursuit of searching for deep wisdom and understanding. In the years that followed, Ben spent his days working with his hands, building and reflecting, raising a family, and letting the words in his heart come to the surface in the quite morning hours. He seeks to make connections and encourage others to search out deep knowledge and to reach for the Divine in one's self and the universe. From this came his poetry collection, Falling into All.
