Anna Adams was born in 1926 in West London. She studied art at Harrow Art School and Hornsey College of Art before marrying Norman Adams, a painter, in 1947. While continuing drawing, painting, and making terracottas, she has worked as an art teacher, a casual farm laborer, a ceramic designer, and most recently as a freelance writer. She died on October 3rd, 2011.
