
Stuart Isacoff, a pianist and author, founded and edited Piano Today magazine for nearly three decades. He is a regular contributor on the arts to The Wall Street Journal and has written for The New York Times, Chamber Music, Symphony, Musical America, Stagebill, and The New Grove Dictionary of American Music. He won the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for excellence in writing on music. Temperament: How Music Became a Battlefield for Western Civilization's Great Minds is another book by Isacoff. He is a member of the Purchase College Conservatory of Music's faculty. He is a resident of Closter, New Jersey.
