Eric Peterson is a third-generation Californian who graduated from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in communication. He worked for Amtrak during college, receiving a glimpse into the exclusive world of private rail travel and witnessing a few amazing parties on the cars' open platforms. After years spent working for a venture firm, starting a software company, and owning a fine-dining restaurant, Peterson accomplished his dream of becoming a novelist in 2009. Life as a Sandwich, his debut novel, was a finalist in the San Diego Book Awards. His second book, The Dinner Car, is his second novel.
