The Fundamentals of Understanding by Design by Jay Mctighe

Jay McTighe has a plethora of expertise in education, having worked as the director of the Maryland Assessment Consortium, a group of school districts that collaborates to produce and disseminate formative performance evaluations. He also assisted in the implementation of standards-based reforms at the Maryland State Department of Education, where he led the creation of the Instructional Framework, a multimedia database on teaching, and coordinated statewide efforts to establish instructional techniques, curriculum models, and assessment procedures aimed at enhancing student thinking quality. Jay has also worked as a classroom teacher, resource specialist, and program coordinator. McTighe has coauthored more than a dozen books with Grant Wiggins, including the Understanding by Design(R) series, and has authored several papers. He is a frequent workshop and conference speaker who has given talks all around the world.
