Games and Sports for Dogs by Kirsten Wolf
Most dogs love to play, and games are an enjoyable way for owners to bond with their pet. This manual guides owners through a series of games and sports that they can teach their dogs, starting with easy amusements like fetching tennis balls, and progressing to advanced exercises such as agility competitions. The games and sports presented in this photo-filled book encompass both indoor and outdoor activities, and also include water games and even winter sports. The author advises on motivation methods and obedience training, and presents quick tips in sidebar features that accompany the main text. She also provides a self-testing questionnaire to help readers assess their dog's fitness for advanced sports. An illustrated eight-page chart at the back of the book summarizes the book's repertory of games and includes notes on each game's comparative difficulty. Hundreds of color photos.
