Mary Lee has written each recipe with brand names listed, and easy step-by-step instructions for all levels of bakers. Additionally, there are sections on baking equipment and baking tips that all levels of bakers will find helpful.

Having covered all book-related costs herself, Mary Lee is donating all of the profits from each book's sale to charities doing wonderful work: Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen, The Trevor Project, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Rossman, Court E.: - Court Rossman first got into building pinewood derby cars when helping with Cub Scouts. Pinewood derby cars allow kids to use wood, hammers, nails, and creativity and competition. The kids can build it themselves, although it is possible that the scout leaders themselves learn more from doing the activity. This picture book compares the pinewood derby cars to real cars, and could be read by both the parent and the kid together, to trigger and answer questions. The general concepts are all in the main part of the book, and the details or the more advance material are placed in the appendices, so the main part of the book keeps a lighter flow of concepts. Part of the emphasis of the this book is a comparison of PD cars to people cars, and part is a description of some of the physical reasons a PD car goes fast, avoiding drag. This book is good in combination with other Pinewood Derby books that more directly describe step by step process to making a good Pinewood Derby car. Court is participating in the emphasis on hands-on learning. Science kits are readily available these days, and that is great. He just wants to help that trend, so the next generation has practical knowledge and creativity. Court has a life-long interest in physics and science, and has a Ph.D. in Physics.
