Since she was a small child growing up on a farm in Iowa, Mary Lindeen has been fascinated by the environment around her. She became an elementary school teacher because she believed learning new things was so much fun. She enjoyed sharing books with her students and wanted to learn more about the publishing process, so she became an editor. She now reads, writes, and edits children's books while continuing to master new skills. She and her son live in Minnesota and enjoy traveling with each other whenever and wherever they can, including frequent visits to that Iowa farm.
