Adam Caplin's interest in gardening began when he was five years old, in his father's garden, and has grown into a lifetime obsession. He majored in horticulture at university and has since worked in the establishment and operation of several garden centers in London. He's also been active at promoting environmental and green issues in local elementary schools. Adam has contributed to publications such as BBC Gardener's World, Simple Gardening, Saga, and Gardens Illustrated. Adam co-designed a garden that earned a silver medal at London's Chelsea Flower Show, which is featured in his book Urban Eden.

New Kitchen Garden and Cool Containers, both published by Ryland Peters & Small, are two of his other publications. Adam is based in London, England.
