Gardening with Ornamental Grasses by Grounds Roger

The variety of species of ornamental grasses available today have made them an integral part of garden design. This book inspires amateur gardeners and enthusiasts to undertake more in-depth projects including choosing the right grasses for planting in the shade, how to create a container jungle of grasses and bringing the 'prairie' direct to your doorstep. Beautiful artistic impressions of the completed projects and a vast selection of stunning photographs provide a fascinating insight into what can be achieved by correct planting. The comprehensive A-Z of grasses, listed by botanical names, contains further information on selecting the right plant for your garden scheme.
Roger Grounds is a pioneer of ornamental grasses. He wrote the first-ever book on these rewarding plants in the 1970s and has been writing, broadcasting and lecturing internationally on them ever since. With his wife Diana Grenfell (also a renowned garden writer and lecturer) he created and ran Apple Court garden and nursery, in Hampshire, UK, which specialised in ornamental grasses. Roger lives in Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire.
