James Bentley (1937-2000) worked as a teacher, academic, historian, and Anglican priest, among other things. He was the Vicar of Oldham, Lancashire, Dean and Senior Chaplain at Eton College, Windsor, and the University of Sussex's Maurice Reckitt Research Fellow in Christian Social Philosophy.
