General Chemistry: The Essential Concepts by Raymond Chang
Suitable for a one-year general chemistry course, this book helps students in visualizing the three-dimensional atomic and molecular structures that are the basis of chemical activity, and in developing problem-solving skills. It also features macro to micro artwork, animations correlated to the text, as well as hand-sketched worked examples.
Raymond Chang received his B.Sc in chemistry from London University, and his Ph.D. in chemistry from Yale University. After doing postdoctoral research at Washington University and teaching for a year at Hunter College, he joined the Chemistry Department of Williams College. He wrote books on physical chemistry, industrial chemistry, and physical science.
