Jeffry D.Wert has written eight books about the Civil War, the most recent of which are Cavalryman of the Lost Cause and The Sword of Lincoln. Many periodicals have published his Civil War articles and essays, including Civil War Times Illustrated, American History Illustrated, and Blue and Gray. He resides in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, about an hour and a half from the Gettysburg battlefield. He was a history teacher at Penns Valley High School.
