"..an extraordinary book. Not quite scholarship as such, nor exegesis, nor literary criticism or theology, it partakes of them all, filtering familiar texts through a richly intelligent and transforming sensibility." - The Jerusalem Report "... sinewy, powerful and hauntingly beautiful." - Publishers' Weekly"
Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg was born in England to a rabbinic family. She studied at Gateshead seminary and at Cambridge University, where she received her PhD. She has taught to students in Israel at MaTaN, Jerusalem College for Adults, Midreshet Lindenbaum, and Pardes Institute, and lectures widely in the United States, Canada, and England. Zornberg is also the author of Particulars of Rapture: Reflections on Exodus (2001) and of The Murmuring Deep: Reflections on the Biblical Unconscious (2009).
