The Geography of Childhood by Gary Nabhan

What may happen now that so many more children are denied exposure to wilderness than at any other time in human history?

Stephen Trimble was born in Denver, his family's home base while his geologist father traveled the West. He worked as a park ranger in Colorado and Utah after receiving a liberal arts education at Colorado College, obtained a master's degree in ecology at the University of Arizona, served as director of the Museum of Northern Arizona Press, and lived near Santa Fe, New Mexico for five years. Since 1981, he has worked as a full-time freelance writer and photographer.
