Geography Today is a modern, differentiated series that features current environmental and citizenship issues. It features a bank of visual resources on CD-ROM supported by differentiated worksheets. Teachers can use the stimulus material on the CD-ROM for the whole class and then set the children to work on the worksheets according to their ability. Instead of trawling through endless web sites for source material teachers can quickly select the topic of their choice and have all the resources they need at their fingertips. As well as incorporating both facts and skills, Geography Today is closely matched to the QCA guidance but has additional topics to provide some variety as well. With the current trend towards a more creative approach to geography teaching, this series will prove popular with many primary teachers.
Andrew Brodie was Headteacher of two schools, before starting a new career as an educational writer. Judy Richardson was the Deputy Headteacher of a First (Primary) School in Norfolk. She continues to teach on a regular basis.
