Carol Lovekin has Irish blood and a Welsh heart. She was born in Warwickshire and was educated at a downmarket version of St Trinian's. She continues to be homeschooled. During her life she has worked as a cleaner, a freelance journalist, a counsellor, a legal secretary and a shop assistant.
