Ghostly Beasts by Joan Aiken

Animal tales are among the most popular of Joan Aiken's short stories and in this stunning collection the ambience of ghostly backgrounds gives an added richness of content to their elusive magic. Two stories in the collection, The Dogs, the Cats and the Mice and The Dancers are published for the first time. The book also includes a selection of Joan Aiken's poems which have never before been published in this country. Strikingly illustrated in full colour, by prize-winning artist, Amanda Harvey this beautiful gift book makes an excellent offering for the Christmas market.
Prize-winning Joan Aiken was born in Sussex in 1924 and came from a family of writers. Since then she has written over 100 books for young readers and adults and has been awarded the MBE for her services to literature. Joan Aiken died in 2004. Amanda Harvey trained in Children's Book Illustration at Chelsea School of Art. She is the award-winning illustrator of over thirty books. Amanda Harvey lives with her family in rural Kent where she works in a wooden chalet in the garden.
