En 2011, Hobbs vendio los derechos de adaptacion de su novela policiaca Ghostman a Warner Brothers. En 2014, Hobbs fue nominado para el Premio Edgar a la Mejor Primera Novela por un autor estadounidense. Roger Hobbs murio de una sobredosis de drogas en Portland, Oregon, el 14 de noviembre de 2016.
