Mary Cerullo is a science interpreter, according to her. She collaborates with scientists and ocean advocates to educate the public about scientific studies and environmental challenges in the hopes of inspiring others to safeguard the ocean. She's dived with sharks in the Bahamas, studied dolphin behavior at the Dolphin Research Center in Florida, and, most recently, explored the connection between volcanoes and the ocean on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Mary has created 21 award-winning children's books about the ocean. From her initial position at the New England Aquarium in Boston to two decades with Friends of Casco Bay, an environmental advocacy organization in South Portland, Maine, she has spent more than 40 years working with children, teachers, and other ocean enthusiasts.
