She enjoys people watching from cafes and bookshops, or spending time engaging in intelligent conversation with cats. A freelance copywriter, Emmalena dedicates all her time to writing. She was previously published for poetry as a teenager, before winning the Chief Poet of Suffolk Skalds competition in 2016. 'Ginsterpigs' is her first venture into the world of fiction.
