Giraffe and Frog by Zehra Hicks

A bold, funny romp with zingy and colourful artwork from the award-winning Zehra Hicks. Frog and Giraffe are going to the beach... but where is it, again? Giraffe is convinced of the route and sets off confidently, striding ahead of Frog . . . but when they arrive, Frog knows that's not the beach! Where's the water? Where's the sand? Can they EVER find the right way? Giraffe and Frog is a hilarious summertime caper that children will love, complete with Zehra Hicks' trademark fresh, fizzing, carefree illustrations. It will strike a particular chord with anyone who's ever argued with a friend - especially about directions!
Zehra Hicks is the author-illustrator of the award-winning The Boy Who Hated Toothbrushes and its companion title The Girl Who Loved Wellies. The Boy Who Hated Toothbrushes was highly commended for The Macmillan Prize for Illustration in 2009, winner of the Heart of Hawick Award in 2012, shortlisted for the Read It Again! Cambridgeshire Children's Picture Book Award and named Lovereading4Kids Debut of the Year 2011. All Mine! was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal. Zehra uses a variety of media to create her bold, stylish artwork: the energetic characters in All Mine! are painted using a stick, and in Flying Lemurs by bamboo. Zehra spent a year studying theatre design in Utrecht, Holland, which gave her a great understanding of the stage, but she has not as yet performed any acrobatic shows in public like her lemurs. Zehra lives with her family in Epsom, Surrey.
