The feel-good place to buy books

Philip Mauro (1859-1952) is regarded as one of the twentieth century's most enthralling religious writers. He was a patent lawyer who argued matters before the United States Supreme Court for several years, and his successful management of the French Artillery case against the United States won him international notoriety. Some notable instances include the government, the Westinghouse Air Brake lawsuit, and others. Mauro became a Christian in 1903, at the height of his professional career, and his primary interest from then on was the study of Scripture and the application of his sharp mind to biblical issues. In his early years as a Christian, Mauro embraced the Dispensational beliefs promoted by the popular Scofield Reference Bible, and produced several books and pamphlets from that perspective before concluding that the system was grossly erroneous, if not outright heretical, in its essential presuppositions.
Although succeeding writers downplayed the more egregious faults of traditional Scofieldism, enough of the original system's impact remains in today's Dispensationalism to justify further study of Mauro's detailed rebuttals. His other publications include The Hope of Israel, The Gospel of the Kingdom, Evolution at the Bar, and Things Which Must Soon Come to Happen, a major exegesis on the Book of Revelation.
