He has studied at the University of Paris, France, and the University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and holds degrees from Davidson College and Syracuse University.

research director for the South Carolina Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources
Committee and is an avid tennis player and runner. She has taught
writing at the University of South Carolina, Midlands Technical College, and
