God With Us by Rowan Williams
A fresh look at the foundation story of the Christian faith by one of the worlds greatest living theologians
There is a dignity inherent in Rowan Williams’ writing that both challenges and ennobles those who read it. . We are asked to consider in this book nothing less than the fundamental meaning of life itself. * Lucy Winkett, Rector of St James’ Church, Piccadilly *
Theology at its very best, and easily accessible too! Reading the book, I found myself drawn afresh to the vision of "perfect humanity" made manifest in Jesus Christ. * Miroslav Volf, Professor of Theology, Yale University Divinity School *
‘Rowan Williams is one of the great theologians of our time. He is also an inspiring teacher whose godly wisdom helps us understand profound truths.’ * Nicky Gumbel, Vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton and pioneer of the Alpha Course *
Williams at the peak of his masterly powers as a Christian teacher and spiritual guide. * Church Times *
Profound and moving reflections. * The Church of England newspaper *
a ‘good book for busy people’, with ‘self-contained’ chapters * The Reader *
Writing in the appealing conversational idiom characteristic of his preaching style, Williams manages a subtle balance between assuming a doctrinal blank slate on the one hand and counteracting the effects of long familiarity on the other * TLS *
an ideal Lent book * Inspire Magazine *
refreshingly simple but profound language * Progressive Voices *
