Good Breeding by Yann Arthus-Bertrand

In this unique book, Yann Arthus-Bertrand presents some of the most spectacular and prize-winning examples of domestic livestock in the world, posed with their owners, breeders, or trainers at agricultural shows in France, England, and Argentina. Looking at these photographs leaves one in awe of the magnificent features of these animals, some of which will be familiar to most readers while others are quite rare and are not known beyond the region where they originated. One of the most appealing aspects of these photos is the presence of the animals' human companions, all of them proud to be presenting these creatures to the camera. An essay by Claude Michelet supplements the photographs as well as provides detailed information on the various animals and breeds.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand, a specialist in aerial photography, first discovered the beauty of the world from above in a hot-air balloon in Kenya, where he wrote about lions with his wife, Anne. In 1991 he founded the Altitude agency, a unique bank of aerial images that brings together photographers from all corners of the world. Arthus-Bertrand has published approximately 70 books, including Abrams' New York from the Air, Greece from the Air, Good Breeding, Earth from Above, and Earth from Above: 365 Days.
