Good Fight of Faith by Alan Vincent
An advocate for advanced surgical instrument processing education, Francis has developed the simplest and most accurate mathematical formula to compute staffing needs in surgical instrument processing departments. He coined the term sterile forensics and developed its methodology to identify, classify and resolve instrument processing issues. As founder of The Consortium of Sterile Sciences, he invented innovative products, software and published author for several decades. Francis conducted research to prove that surgical count sheets shed fine paper and ink particles upon instruments and implants, when exposed to the high temperatures of steam sterilization. Which inspired medical centers to isolate surgical count sheets from surgical instruments by making use of surgical count sheet holders such as the Alma Sac. He also coined and defined sterile sciences and open doors for sterile processing professionals to at last pursue degree programs in surgical instrument processing.Alan Vincent is the author of Molecular Symmetry and Group Theory: A Programmed Introduction to Chemical Applications, 2nd Edition, published by Wiley.
