The Graduate by Charles Webb
'Benjamin ... would you like me to seduce you?' Benjamin Braddock wants to be bad. So the college boy with a solid-gold future revolts against his life of Suburban Hell. And when his parents' friend Mrs Robinson strips naked in front of him and offers to teach him the things he never learnt at school, it seems an affair with an 'Older Woman' could give him the adult education he's been looking for ... This seductive, brilliantly funny tale of growing up and dropping out was immortalized in the legendary Sixties film starring Dustin Hoffman, with Anne Bancroft as the infamous, insatiable Mrs Robinson.
Charles Webb was born in 1939 in San Francisco. He was educated at Williams College, Massachusetts, where he graduated in American history and literature. The Graduate was his first novel. Other works include: Love, Roger, The Marriage of a Young Stockbroker, The Abolitionist of Clark Gable Place and Elsinor. He plays the flute, is married and has two sons.
