Grandad's Prayers Of The Earth by Wood Douglas
A picture book celebration of prayer in its many forms. There are many ways to pray, says Grandad as he walks with his grandson in the woods. The trees reach for heaven, streams and rivers flow and chuckle, flowers breathe their sweetness into the air, birds sing...Everything in the world has its own prayer, says Grandad - and people pray some of the most wonderful prayers of all. The boy listens to all this with fascination and wonder. Although he is never sure that he hears the prayers himself, being with Grandad seems to make the world seem just right. Then one day, Grandad is gone and the boy is heartbroken. Now, more than ever, he needs to hear Grandad's prayers of the Earth and to find the words to make his own prayers. Will the world ever seem just right again?
