Grandpa's Slippers by Joy Watson

They are ratty and tatty, a little bit mouldy and a little bit smelly! There are holes in the soles and ...look, is that Grandpa's toe? It is time for a new pair of slippers, but Grandpa can't let his old ones go.
Joy Watson began writing stories for children after she and her pharmacist husband, Kevin, had raised nine children of their own. Grandpa and Grandma are characters children have come to love with sometimes one, sometimes the other, winning the gentle battles they have over changes. Joy says: "These books have been fun to write and I am constantly amazed at their popularity, but I believe children and grandparents have a very special bond which thrives on being able to laugh at each other." Joy lives in Havelock North. Wendy Hodder was born and raised in the North Island, and her childhood interest in drawing horses developed later into a career as a freelance illustrator. She has illustrated for advertising, magazines and educational resources, as well as, of course, the Grandpa series. Wendy lives in Foxton.
