
Granny's Wonderful Chair by Frances Browne
A young girl, Snowflower, lives in a cottage with her grandmother, Dame Frostface, who goes away on a journey leaving her chair as company. Frances Browne was born in Donegal and was blinded by smallpox in infancy. Despite this setback, she earned a living as a writer while living in London, and contributed to the magazine Leisure Hour for 23 years.
