Granny's Wonderful Chair by Frances Browne
A young girl, Snowflower, lives in a cottage with her grandmother, Dame Frostface, who goes away on a journey leaving her chair as company. Every night the old chair brings Snow flower comfort by telling amazing stories. One dat it takes her to the royal palace of Kinf Winwealth. Frances Browne was born in Donegal and was blinded by smallpox in infancy. Despite this setback, she earned a living as a writer while living in London, and contributed to the magazine Leisure Hour for 23 years.
