A photocopiable resource book offering an introduction to the world of Charles Dickens. It features activities that look at Dickens' use of language. It includes applications in English, history, ICT, drama and art. It is aimed at teaching ages 10-17.
Gavin Knight has taught English in a variety of secondary schools. He currently works as Assistant Head Teacher at Minster College on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Previously he has worked as Lead Secondary English Consultant for Kent, Principle Assessment Manager for English at Edexel, a Head of English for many years, and of course, a classroom teacher. He has written a variety of resources to support the teaching of English for the Secondary National Strategy, Longmans, Heinemann and NATE. He is Regional Co-ordinator for NATE in the South East, (the National association for the Teaching of English) and is responsible for the Book Box section in NATE Classroom magazine.
