The Great War Display Team was founded in 1988 and has since gone on to become one of Britain's premier display teams, with a wealth of talented pilots passing through its ranks and amazing crowds with a variety of recreated aircraft including Fokker Dr1s, Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5s, a Sopwith Triplane and an Avro 504. Ernie Hoblyn has been a member of the Great War Display Team for more than a decade and has flown a wide variety of aeroplanes. He is a local author who has studied the history of the Plym Valley for years and his photographs in his first book show the rise and decline of the industry in the valley. Bruce Dickinson is an English musician and pilot best-known for his work with the band Iron Maiden. He has flown with the Great War Display Team and is an enthusiastic supporter of aviation history and heritage.
