The composer's wife Clara was the solo pianist at the work's 1846 debut, under the direction of Ferdinand Hiller, to whom the work was dedicated.The Concerto in A Minor was the only piano concerto that Schumann completed in his tragically brief life. This volume features two additional works by the composer for piano and orchestra: Konzertst ck (Introduction and allegro appassionato), Op. 92, and Introduction and allegro, Op. 134. All three works are reproduced from the authoritative Breitkopf & H rtel editions.
