The Greatest Cricketing Tips in the World by Rotherham Roly; Clifford Guy

From its early beginnings in Hambledon to the international matches played around the world, the game of cricket has become beloved by many. This book will enhance both understanding and enjoyment of the game and show just what it entails at grassroots level. Preparing the wicket, playing the game, umpiring and scoring are all covered in this entertaining book that belongs in the kit bag of every player and the bookshelf of every fan.
ROLY ROTHERHAM - Doctor Roland Rotherham, or Roly to his friends has been addicted to cricket from an early age.First to realize that he had no natural aptitude for the game, he still managed to enjoy it to it's full at many levels including umpiring and then later scoring which remains his first love. Roly has kept the book for numerous clubs and makes friends wherever he goes. He admits this might be down to his outrageous sense of humour! He has also earned great respect from other scorers and umpires. The Roly Allstars are his own charity cricket side made up from players from all over the country, indeed, even the world. They raise money for children's charities so If you are fortunate to be invited to turn out for them - please accept! GUY CLIFFORD - Since winning a cricket bat in a comic competition aged four, Guy Clifford has loved the game. Encouraged by his parents, Pat and Cliff, he has striven to play as often and wherever he could. He played his first senior game for Colwall 2nds aged 10, playing for many clubs as his family moved around the Midlands. During his first spell with Milford Hall C.C., he became a committee member at 14yrs old. He had an enigmatic, five year stay at Bewdley C.C., three years at Sheldon Marlborough C.C., six years with Cannock & Rugeley C.C., a second stint with Milford, nine years with Armitage C.C. finally settling at his current club five years ago, where he is groundsman too. His input into all these clubs has been commendable both on and off the cricket field. He has also had cameo seasons with Lichfield C.C., Alrewas C.C. and Wall C.C., causing his cricketing colleagues to comment that he has had more clubs than Nick Faldo! His love of the game and its fraternity is undying, and at the age of 50 intends to carry on at all levels.
