It's the first day of sophomore year, and now that Winifred's two best (and only) friends have transferred to a private school, she must navigate high school on her own. But she isn't alone for long. In art class, she meets two offbeat students, Oscar and April. The three bond through clandestine sleepovers, thrift store shopping, and zine publishing. Winifred is finally breaking out of her shell, but there's one secret she can't bear to admit to April and Oscar, or even to herself--and this lie is threatening to destroy her newfound friendships.

With breathtaking art and honest storytelling, Sarah Winifred Searle delivers a heartfelt story about love, friendship, and self-acceptance.

Sarah Searle originally hails from spooky New England but currently lives in sunny Perth, Australia. She writes and draws comics, best known for vulnerable memoir and compassionate fiction. Her first graphic novel Sincerely Harriet, a quiet middle grade tale about a girl who discovers the power of storytelling while learning to manage chronic illness, debuted from Graphic Universe in May 2019. Maria Capelle Frantz was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, where she spent the first years of her life playing in the woods, making up stories, and regularly perusing the local comic shop. In 2015, she was awarded a national gold medal in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, for her short comic Death Wish. In 2017, her poster The Golden Door was chosen to be a part of Hank Green's Refugee Poster Project, alongside 15 other artists. Prints of artwork inspired by the refugee crisis were sold on dftba.com to help raise money for refugees in the United States. Her debut graphic novel, The Chancellor and the Citadel, was published by Iron Circus Comics in 2019.
